Which Route Is Right For You?

South Africa recognises several respected finance and accounting qualifications, each with a different shape. A short comparison to get you oriented:

CA(SA) — Chartered Accountant (South Africa) The most recognised designation in South Africa. Degree-based, includes a training contract (articles), and takes around 6-7 years from matric to qualification.

ACCA — Association of Chartered Certified Accountants A globally portable, exam-based qualification recognised in over 180 countries. Flexible for students who want to study while working, and doesn't require a single accredited SA university.

CIMA — Chartered Institute of Management Accountants The world's leading qualification in management accounting and business strategy. One of the few routes you can start straight from matric, even without an accounting background.
