Bridge the Gap Workshops

The transition from qualifying to leading is demanding in a different way than studying ever was. Bridge the Gap: Step into the Ring
2025

Bridge the Gap: Step Into the Ring is an empowering workshop designed for aspiring Chartered Accountants to confront the challenges of the CA(SA) journey with courage, resilience, and strategy. Hosted by LGC Foundation and powered by FASSET, this event combines professional development with the spirit of a boxing ring reminding trainees that every round fought brings them closer to victory.

Through interactive sessions, design-thinking activities, and mentorship-led discussions, participants will discover practical strategies to manage workplace challenges, strengthen their professional identity, and build the stamina needed to complete the journey to qualification.

More than just a workshop, Step Into the Ring is a call to action: to equip yourself with the tools, community, and mindset to overcome setbacks, rise stronger, and claim your place as a future CA(SA).

Bridge the Gap: Empowering Professionals
2024

In 2024, LGC Foundation hosted its very first event, Bridge the Gap: Empowering Professionals. It was an experiment: an invitation to 50 trainee accountants to test the waters on a conversation the profession doesn't always make space for, built around three real stages of a working career: entering the workplace, managing the workplace, and advancing in the workplace.

Entering the Workplace looked at the transition every newly qualified professional faces: moving from student to colleague, and building the confidence to hold your own in rooms with people who've been doing this longer than you have.

Managing the Workplace turned to the everyday reality of professional life: navigating pressure, deadlines, and relationships with judgement no textbook fully prepares you for.

Advancing in the Workplace looked further ahead, to what it takes to grow a career with intention rather than by accident, and to start thinking like a leader long before the title catches up.

This was the first time LGC Foundation brought these three ideas into a room together, and it laid the groundwork for everything Bridge the Gap has become since.
